What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) In an incognito window (or any chrome that isn't logged into github), navigate to:
https://github.com/pdrtestacct/testforchromebug/edit/master/README.md
(2) Login with: "pdrtestacct@pr.gg" / "test123account"
(3) Select the [][][][] text from right to left

This bug makes it impossible to select links (in the github editor, so it may be a P1. Leaving as P2 for now.


What is the expected output?
Smooth selection

What do you see instead?
The selection keeps collapsing. In addition, there are console errors:
Discontiguous selection is not supported.


I manually bisected this down to:
