Read-only text fields should allow selecting text using the keyboard |
||||
Issue descriptiondata:text/html,<input readonly value="testing"> data:text/html,<textarea readonly>testing</textarea> I cannot navigate around the text using the cursor keys, nor can I select any of the text using the keyboard and copy it out. All other browsers, Safari, Firefox and IE support this. Native read-only text fields also support this. If I am using a screen reader I would find Chrome's behavior surprising, given my experience with other browsers and apps. I can't think of any reason not to support keyboard navigation and copying text out of read-only text fields.
