++ correction:

This issue is seen only on re-installation/Upgradation of chrome.

Steps:
1. Add above extension >> Sign in >> Open any chat >> Drop any image >> It is successfully uploaded
2. Now re-install/upgrade chrome >> Open hangouts extension and try dropping an image to chat and observe.

Expected: Should be able to drop an image even after re-installation.
Actual: Instead abrupt close of hangouts window is seen.

This issue is broken in M51.

Good Build: 51.0.2696.0 dev
Bad Build: 51.0.2697.0 dev.

This issue is not reproducible on chromium builds. Hence providing manual bisect.

I don't think my CL https://codereview.chromium.org/1847343002 causes the crash. The CL only works/affects with extension calling input.ime.activate() and only works on Linux and Windows.
