Repeated table headers don't work on <div> with "display: table"

Reported by jannes.m...@gmail.com, Oct 12 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.143 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create a table made out of <div>s and apply the table behavior using CSS (display: table, etc)
2. Print

Example URL: https://jsfiddle.net/rjbL96ov/

What is the expected behavior?
Table headers repeat, like when using the semantic elements (table, thead, tbody, tr, th, td)

What went wrong?
Table headers don't repeat

Did this work before? No

Does this work in other browsers? Yes

Chrome version: 53.0.2785.143 Channel: stable
OS Version: 10.0
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Works in Internet Explorer.

This is useful when you don't have control over the kind of elements used for the table. For example when using https://www.ag-grid.com/.

Probably somehow related to issue 24826 and maybe issue 631222
Adding the fiddle as HTML which can be opened in Internet Explorer to see how it should work.

Unable to reproduce the scenario, tested in windows 10 with chrome stable version 53.0.2785.143, and with other browsers IE and Firefox. In other browsers to Table header is not repeating itself.

Please look into the screen-cast.

I think you missed "Step 2". This is about printing the page. The table headers should repeat on every sheet of paper.

Please look at the screenshot, issue 24826 and issue 631222 for a general idea of how this should work.

Able to reproduce this issue on Windows-10 using chrome latest stable M54-54.0.2840.59 and earlier version of chrome M30-30.0.1549.0. Observered that table headers are not repeating from M30

This is a non-regression issue and marking it as untriaged.

Just put break-inside:avoid; on the element that has display: table-header-group; - that will give you the desired effect.
