chromium-browser will not start on Raspberry Pi 3

Issue description

pi@mediaserver:~ $ chromium-browser
/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser: symbol lookup error: 
/usr/lib/chromium-browser/chromium-browser: undefined symbol: mmal_vc_init_fd

  Add OK or FAIL, along with the version, after other browsers where you
have tested this issue:

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Had the same problem.
"sudo apt-get upgrade" followed by "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo reboot" did the trick!
