Steps:
1. Launch chrome and navigate to above url.
2. Add to chrome and click the hangouts icon from action area.
3. Click on any person >> Video call icon to start video call.
4. Now click the iron icon and select 'Fullscreen', Press Esc key and click on the chat icon in LHS corner of the window.

Actual: Chat icon disappears.

Expected: Message overlay should open to type messages.

This is a regression issue broken in M-50.
