As part of our Automation effort, the Enterprise (EP framework) Autotest Framework requires a hook or API to retrieve the policies on the device in JSON format. 
This is to verify that the policies set in the DM server are accurately downloaded and displayed on the device.

About 2 years back Chrome OS had a $policy_reader command to parse and display the policies. Something similar might help. 

Ideally a method in the Autotest framework to parse and display the policies from a device running a ChromeOS test image.
