Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2840.41 Safari/537.36 Example URL: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SO6JzKuuGyJG6bKNzZQS0FDRtb4Wh6mR4jT2SPadonc/edit?usp=sharing Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open a new google spreadsheet on desktop chrome browser 2. enter any random text in a few cells 3. hit either the printer icon or menu bar -> File -> print icon What is the expected behavior? The print preview should show the usual very light cell borders. They should only apply borders should i explicitly chose to do so from the file menu. What went wrong? Now the cell borders appear to be excessively bold. There is no way to make them go away (say by selecting no borders from the file menu). Nor does the change of the border from thick line to dashed to thin line appears to be having any effect. There is also no effect even if choose to only 'apply' top borders. Opening older spreadsheets, say from 2012, shows the same thing. Also see this product forum discussion - https://productforums.google.com/forum/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=footer#!msg/docs/Zq5DTrVFcYA/JVZ8MYJqAAAJ Does it occur on multiple sites: Yes Is it a problem with a plugin? No Did this work before? Yes Even a few days ago. Does this work in other browsers? No firefox/chrome canary Chrome version: 54.0.2840.41 Channel: beta OS Version: OS X 10.12.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 as far as i can tell, the element being printed is a canvas, and so i could not troubleshoot any more by trying to modify styles that i thought were being applied to individual cells.

This is rather annoying but it is probably not a Chrome bug. I tried Chrome 40 from ~2 years ago and it exhibits the same problem. Nothing has changed in Chrome to cause this bug. It is likely the bug is on the Google Docs (Sheets) side in how they generate the spreadsheet for printing.

Since this is a won't fix from chrome perspective, is there another place we could file the bug with? Or will this be transferred to the appropriate buglist automatically? Or should we assume that providing product feedback directly is the best option?

I don't know the exact process for reporting bugs for Google Sheets, but please try providing product feedback. Can't hurt. You've already started a thread on the Google Docs Help Forum, and that's good too. I've also contacted someone I know that works on Sheets, so let's cross our fingers and hope the issue reaches the right people. |
