Clicking multiple times within a contenteditable span element causes chrome to crash.

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open this fiddle: https://jsfiddle.net/hs68401g/
2. Double click multiple times within a contenteditable span element.

3. 

What is the expected behavior?

What went wrong?
The tab crashed.
