Dropdown select no longer works in `ionic serve` when dev tools open and device tool bar on

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. install ionic 
2. create simple project containing a select with two options
3. run `ionic serve`
4. open in Chrome
5. verify select works
6. open dev tools
7. verify select works
8. enable device tool bar

What is the expected behavior?
select works

What went wrong?
select does not open

Did this work before? Yes About two weeks ago. Ionic has not been updated. Chrome has.

Chrome version: 53.0.2785.116  Channel: n/a
OS Version: Kubutnu 16.05
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 11.2 r202

i believe it is problem with google chrome, colleague and me have same issue on Windows 10, when site is opened in 'device mode' all dropdowns are not working, some display black square on random place on screen when clicked

any update on this ?

We are also getting this problem in Mac for chrome Version 53.0.2785.116 (64-bit)

Same issue on Windows 7 running latest Chrome (Version 53.0.2785.116 m).
