Chrome doesn't remember any sessions after restart

Reported by kristian...@gmail.com, Sep 21 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Start up Chrome
2. Go to for example gmail.com
3. Login
4. Restart Chrome
5. Go to gmail.com
6. Chrome doesn't remember the session, not even the username is autofilled

What is the expected behavior?
Chrome should remember the session, since I haven't explicitly set this in the settings.

What went wrong?
Chrome doesn't remember my session on the website, or cookies or even the username.

Did this work before? Yes Worked two months ago.

Chrome version: 53.0.2785.116 Channel: stable
OS Version: Elementary OS Loki (Ubuntu 16.04)
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

I was wondering if it's because I am using Lastpass. But I also have a Windows 10 machine with same settings and Lastpass, and there it has always been working okay.

Also, when I start up Chrome, Linux wants me to login, I guess that is also because of Lastpass. Maybe the session information is not initialized properly because of that password prompt?

Components: -Services>Sync UI>Browser>Autofill
This is on same machine, so it seems related to autofill.
