Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.116 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: Connect to remote host and try to play audio. What is the expected behavior? Audio should play from remote host to local host. What went wrong? Audio does not output on local host. WebStore page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrome-remote-desktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?hl=en Did this work before? Yes Chrome 50.x Chrome version: 53.0.2785.116 Channel: stable OS Version: 10 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0 Previous reports of issue: Issue 482932 https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=482932 Merged into 617859 on 6/16/16 Issue 617859 https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=617859 Closed 6/16/16 System Info: Currently running Chrome 53.0.2785.116 m on both hosts. Local host is Win7 SP1 x86 Remote host is Win10 Home Version 1511 Build 10586.589 ---Attempted Fixes--- -Enable "Allow service to interact with desktop" in adminstrative tools. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/wXDP3Uq0iFA No change. Attempted setting each computer individually, and setting on both at the same time. -Reboot Both hosts https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=482932 No change. -Turn up volume on remote host https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=617859 No change. In report 617859 sergeyu@chromium.org mentioned this as a current workaround. This is not an acceptable substitute for proper functionality, and no longer operates as a temp fix. Volume level has no impact on transmission of audio, muted or otherwise. -Change audio output device on remote host. No change. Attempted output through various devices on remote host, including a USB output, Headphone Jack, and HDMI output. (Information on devices available upon request. ------- Testing was done by connecting to remote host, setting audio device and level, then initializing 1-3 audio playback programs (i.e. spotify, vlc, youtube etc.) on remote host to play audio. User @ remote host reported sound output from device was working as expected during each test (I.E. utilizing correct device, volume/mute working as expected, etc.) though no audio would output through CRD. After each attempt, audio output programs were terminated through command prompt. Settings (Volume, Output devices, etc) were changed. Remote connection was terminated, then re-initialized, then audio output programs were re-initialized to ensure all processes were running fresh. ---Additional Information--- Issue has been reported across multiple Operating Systems on both Remote and Connecting Host, indicating the OS version has no impact on this bug. These include but are not limited to: Win7 Win8 Win10 Apple OSX Furthermore, many users have reported this issue using realtek audio drivers. I personally am experincing this issue using Microsoft audio drivers, and as such it would seem audio drivers/version do not impact this issue as well. All information thus far seems to indicate this is, and has been, an issue rooted in the Chrome build. I am personally willing to perform further testing for Chromium developers if needed, as this feature was one of the core reasons I use the product.

Why is this taking so long? I've had this problem for over 6 months and I've stopped using CDR now.

Any progress on this? I am on a Chromebook Pixel accessing my Mac OSX 10.12 at home via CRD and there is no audio...?

I have had this issue on both of my machines. I have my main PC, and a home server both set up with CRD. The main machine was the first to not have sound, but now works, however the server does not work any longer. Botch machines are running Windows 10. I am curious from the other folks what type of audio drivers they are using. I feel as though there is a link to Logitech's Gaming Software. When my main machine was not working, it had a Logitech USB headset and since I switched to an analog headset the issue has gone away, although my memory is fuzzy whether it was immediate. My server PC now has a Logitech headset, and no longer plays sound in CRD.

Sure enough, got home today and I uninstalled Logitech Gaming Software and the audio started working after a restart.

Let me ask you this was your default audio device your logitech headset? Maybe the issue is if you have a digital audio device as your output, it won't output audio on chrome remote desktop. Therefore only works when using an analog audio output like speakers? I say this because both my audio outputs are digital, optical/coax and HDMI audio out from my PC, and I can't get any audio out using chrome remote desktop.

My default audio was my Logitech headset, but changing the default did not fix the issues either. I had tried to switch to an analog headset to see if would work and it did not.
