After browser is up and running what crash ID is showing on chrome://crashes?
can you file a feedback report(Shift+Alt+i)?

Also, unable to reproduce.
Unfortunately when ChromeOS crashes there is no crash ID in chrome://crashes. Only some old ones.
Found the correct way to reproduce this bug on powerwashed Chromebook.
Tick "Show input in the shelf" in language setup. You'll see layout switch in a panel. Click it and then click to any layout option. Chrome will crash.
