layout suddenly off

Issue description
Chrome Version 53.0.2785.116 m : <Copy from: 'about:version'>

Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Safari: PASS/FAIL (Version)
Firefox: PASS/FAIL (Version)
IE: PASS/FAIL (Version)
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)open chrome
(2)
(3)
What is the expected result?
normal layout and sizing of the top section of chrome, everything has become larger, the font looks different.
What happens instead?
sizing and layout looks off
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
I have checked and chrome is at regular zoom, no extensions are causing this. this started after coming back from a meal and starting chrome.

It seems to be a DPI issue. I've always had issues with Chrome on my high-dpi displays, and it seems as of right now Chrome is forcing high-dpi mode (?) regardless of the Windows setting. It also can't be changed with the dpi compatibility flag in the chrome.exe's properties.

#3: Without more information I assume so. This was changed intentionally, chrome now renders correctly at 125% device scaling. See bug 410696 for more context. I understand that this is a somewhat jarring change and I apologize. If you feel your desktop's UI is too large you can change your device scaling by going to Start>Settings>System>Display>"Change the size of text, apps, and other items". If there are specific issues with the change feel free to file another bug. |
