Typically for bugs like this, we should still have a reasonable summary of the problem, even if it's very broad.  So something like "Extension permissions UI on updates is noisy, confusing, and incomplete", so that a reader still has some idea of what's wrong.  Also, we typically put related bugs as "blockers", so that it's easy to see them from a glance (and it updates the other bug, too, with a link to this one).

Issue 436758 was meant to be a parent bug for any fixes to app and extension permission messages.

Making myself an owner so as not to lose track of this bug, not necessarily to fix the issue.

I think issue 436758 is a little orthogonal to this, since that's related to the permission system on the whole, rather than the update flow.  Just my $0.02, but I'd remove it as a blocker.

Also, it would be good to comb through these and see if any are dupes - e.g. issue 522392 and  issue 429410  seem to be referring to the same problem at first glance.

This issue has been Available for over a year. If it's no longer important or seems unlikely to be fixed, please consider closing it out. If it is important, please re-triage the issue.
