Double-clicking non-GET request in network-view opens tab with GET request to same URL

Reported by casper@caspersmits.nl, Sep 15 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_6) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. With DevTools openend, go to Network tab (and select 'preserve log')
2. On a website, do a POST request so it appears in the list
3. Doubleclick on the listed POST request

What is the expected behavior?
Option 1: Chrome opens a tab and does the exact same request *including* the method-type, like a POST in this case
Option 2: Chrome doesn't open a tab

What went wrong?
Chrome opens a tab and does a GET request to the URL of the selected network call.

Did this work before? No

I spoke to paulirish@ about this and we agreed that this would be useful in some cases, but it could cause problems in others without the user realizing it; therefore we decided not to implement this.

Thank you for the suggestion though!
