In kravula@'s case the file was already in her download directory; we had to plug the phone in to check and look at the directory because it wasn't listed by the download manager. Assigning to Min to investigate if he thinks it's worth investigating.

does the phone have sufficient storage left? We used to have a bug that when storage is insufficient, Chrome will pop up the overwrite infobar. And does it happen for all the image files you try to save? If so, can you capture a network log and post it here? You can find how to capture network logs here: https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/dev/for-testers/providing-network-details

as in #4, this happens when the file is already in the download dir. So this is working as intended

The file isn't in the download dir though. It occurs for completely new files

Will this issue be re opened as the file does not need to exist in order for the UI to present a "replace" button?

We saw two reports in M55 feedback and those users were on OnePlus One (A0001) and OnePlus A3000. Users said Chrome always asks if you want to replace file in download folder even if the file is new and not exists in download folder. |
