Able to reproduce the issue on chrome latest stable #53.0.2785.116 and canary #55.0.2866.0 by following steps mentioned in the original comment. Performed re-bisect using new script on Windows and observed the below change log with multiple suspects. Unable to perform bisect on Mac and Linux on latest script due insufficient chrome builds available. Change Log: ----------- https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src/+log/fc5aafd0c036e4b939ebd6ef2e014a97b7add807..73f4d6949aba845ccff231a9d820bcc982c7512d Unable to find the actual suspect from the above log, could anyone please look in to this and assign it to the concerned person for further assistance. Thanks!

Mac doesn't use F11, have we actually verified this is broken on mac?
,

Confirmed that Escape does not exit from fullscreen with these steps. For whatever reason I also didn't see the overlay window that tells you how to exit fullscreen.

Mac doesn't use F11 so this is expected behavior. I see see the overlay window "Press ESC to exit fullscreen" though

"F11" is just what Chrome tells you to press to exit fullscreen on Windows. Esc is what you are told to press on the Mac. So the bug is really that pressing the fullscreen exit key (F11 on Windows, Esc on Mac) does not exit you from fullscreen. Or does it work for you spqchan@?

Ah right. So to exit fullscreen from the steps listed at the description, Mac uses Ctrl-Cmd-F. If Chrome enters tab fullscreen (via a youtube video, etc) on Mac, you need to exit via Esc. Both functionalities work for me, so it's working as intended

Are you following the steps in the problem description? On different machines and in different versions of Chrome I don't see the exit fullscreen window, and pressing Escape does not take me out of fullscreen. What's more, when I close the Sign-in window I can't exit fullscreen by pressing Escape.

Following the steps in the problem description, we enter "browser fullscreen", not "tab fullscreen". Because of it, we shouldn't be able to exit fullscreen by pressing Escape, because that's reserved for "tab fullscreen".

Sorry, please disregard my comment in #6. I got mixed up with one of the earlier comments. Anyway, on Mac, pretty that fullscreen button enters "browser fullscreen", so we should exit fullscreen via Ctrl-Cmd-F.

So when you enter fullscreen, which you're saying is browser fullscreen mode, are you seeing the message that says "Press esc to exit fullscreen"? If so, either that message should not appear, or should be changed to say "Ctrl-Cmd-F" (ick), or browser fullscreen mode should accept Escape.

The message doesn't appear. AFAIK I don't it's supposed to appear on Mac browser fullscreen. Should we check with the people who made the prompt?
,

I don't see the message. You stated previously that you saw it but I see that was c#6 which you said was wrong, so as long as the message is not appearing I think everything is OK. The report for this bug is that you can't exit fullscreen by following the instructions that appear when you enter.
