Font not rendered properly (little nubs at top and bottom)

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to the URL
2. Scroll down to project activity
3. Observe that 'modified a comment' is rendered improperly

What is the expected behavior?
The font should render without the nub artifacts

What went wrong?
Not sure. The rest of the page displays fine. The activity line has little nubs. See the attached screenshot

Unable to reproduce the issue on MAC 10.11.6, Windows 10 and Ubuntu 14.04  using the reported version #53.0.2785.89, chrome stable #53.0.2785.101 and latest canary #55.0.2858.0.

Attaching a screenshot for reference.

Following are the steps followed to reproduce the issue.
------------
1. Navigated the url https://sourceforge.net/projects/getgnuwin32/
2. Scrolled down to project activity.
3. Observed that 'modified a comment' is rendered properly without any issues.

Reporter@ - Could you please check this issue on chrome stable #53.0.2785.101 by creating a new profile without any apps and extensions and please let us know if the issue still persist or not.

Hello, I have upgraded to stable 53.0.2785.101 and the issue is still present but not as much. It seems to be more dependent on the zoom size now. At 150% nubs are visible. This is in a clean profile.

Poorly hinted font without font smoothing. Font/configuration issue unrelated to Chrome.

Are you sure it's unrelated to Chrome, how come it looks fine in Firefox?
