Fonts blurry when going from external monitor to local monitor

Running: 53.0.2785.101 (Official Build) m (64-bit)

I have an X1 Yoga. If I keep Chrome running when switching from an external 3440x1440 monitor with no scaling to the laptop's built-in display of 2560x1440 with some font scaling, fonts in Chrome end up looking blurry. 

Attached is a screenshot showing Chrome compared to Edge when this happens.

Note that blurriness is both in browser UI as well as on web contents.

The blurriness also persists across browser restarts, and across sleep/resume.

If I sign out of Windows and sign back in, the blurriness does go away.

This version unfortunately does not have per monitor DPI due to  http://crbug.com/625076 

The first available version is 54.0.2808.0.
