What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Watching a YouTube video.
(2) Could perhaps be due to "Hide Youtube Comments" extension, although that didn't cause this problem right away. Errors came later. I won't turn that off, either; comment sections are poison.

What is the expected result?
 The screen doesn't fade away into a gray picture with a frowning piece of paper on it.

What happens instead?
 The screen fades out and experiences an error.

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

 The audio will still continue to play, but everything will visually disappear and be replaced with a frowny-face piece of paper.
