Hi Team, Is this some internal release on which you are not able to see the issue? Comment made on 12th Sept was : "issue reproduce on M-54 and M-55. for some reason the device did not create crash dump file. will provide feedback once it is available." I am unable to still use my chromebook to stream matches on nbcsports.

This is too old to be a beta blocker, if it was in 54/55 it cannot be a regression in 58. That said if we can find a fix for this we can consider it for a 58 merge of course.

Constant Shockwave Flash crashes when accessing NBCSports.com live stream of MLB game, on current stable build of Toshiba Chromebook 2. BAM, gone. Yet current stable build of desktop Chrome plays just fine.

I have not been able to watch any sporting events through NBCSports.com on my Acer 14 Chromebook as the flash player crashes continuously. I was told this is an NBCSports problem rather than a Chromium issue, but in reading this thread there appears to be hope there could be a solution with 58? Any update would be great!

I'm using a samsung chromebook plus and nbcsports has NEVER streamed via Chrome on this chromebook. Chomebook up to date as of check just a few minutes ago. Version 57.0.2987.146 Platform 9202.64.0 (Official Build) stable-channel kevin ARC Version 3880239 Firmware Google_Kevin.8785.157.0 nbc is streaming on windows desktop version of Chrome. Is there a fix for this yet? BTW - for those with chromebooks with access to the playstore the NBC app does work most of the time.

I take it back, Chromebook still crashes IMMEDIATELY when trying to stream NBCSports live. Desktop Chrome, which I am using now for Giants @ Rockies, works fine.

I have the same problem as Brinke...Trying to watch Giants vs Dodgers on NBC Live. Shockwave crashes. Tried using different User-agent setting...No dice. It used to work long ago when I did that. Not anymore.

Same: Worked until a few months back and now nothing. Initializing spinner, brief display of video controls, shockwave crash. I blame NBC for still using this tech but it would be nice to still use.

Same problem with M-59, Asus chromebook, NBC Sports Gold live and full replay streams getting Shockwave Flash crashed message. Have tried all suggested "fixes" with no good result.

Hasn't worked this year when I try to stream F1 races. Worked 'shakily' last year, but this season "Shockwave Flash has crashed" message happens after initializing spins for a few seconds. Extreme frustration since Google has taken out any ability to remove (or see) Flash in the extensions page of the Chromebook. (Multiple versions used to be the issue. Can't see that anymore as Flash is hidden or something in the last few revisions.) Lots of searching indicates this has been going on for several versions of chrome now. Here is mine: Google Chrome 59.0.3071.113 (Official Build) (32-bit) Revision 0 Platform 9460.67.0 (Official Build) stable-channel daisy Firmware Version Google_Snow.2695.132.0 This is on a Chromebook. Most comments I have seen are for PCs running Chrome.

I am also still getting that message of shockwave crashing. Any word on it being fixed? Seems like it has been going on for almost a year now. I would figure some solution should be appearing soon. I too have a chromebook.

Could someone on the Chromebook team give us an update on this problem/solution? Thank you.

It would take major cross company effort to debug this, as it is in proprietary code.

(Bulk Edit) Adding the new conops Chrome OS hotlist to all open issues with the "#CBC-RS/TC-watchlist" tag, our former tracking tag.

@ihf - It's not a big deal for us to send someone to the MV campus to debug collaboratively. Just send us a note and we'll figure out the logistics.

Based on current discussions with the CrOS engineering team, the actual coding of Adobe Flash is handled by Adobe, and the engineering team is only responsible for packaging. Since there hasn't been any updates from the users' end nor has it been reproduced in the last year, I will go ahead and Archive this bug and it can be re-opened at a future date if necessary. |
