h264 support is bundled with Chrome proper. For chromium you will have to install the codecs. Consult some documentation for the platform you are using. For example Ubuntu has some codecs in this package: chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-nonfree

I couldn't find any documentation to get a compiled binary of the ffmpeg-codecs, nor did I find a way to put it into the chrome-linux folder that comes from the daily-build download page PS.: Sorry for late response

But when installing chromium from the package manager, it works (apt-get install chromium-browser) |
