Trace shows no information |
||
Issue descriptionVersion: 52.0.2743.116 (Official Build) (64-bit) OS: ChromeOS What steps will reproduce the problem? (1) Record a trace (2) Look at the trace results (3) What is the expected output? You see all of the information What do you see instead? Where the bars of color would show up is just white. (See screenshot) I've also noticed this for the past 2 months or so on my personal Mac Book Pro, but haven't ever filed a bug for it. Please use labels and text to provide additional information.

I've found that on the Pixel this works if I only check a small number of categories to include in the trace. Note also that I have ~40-50 tabs open. I guess that means that the trace is just too big?

Ah, this is https://github.com/catapult-project/catapult/issues/2416 ... its kind of as you describe, the trace isn't too big chrome's html5 canvas implementation has a 32k pixel size limit, and the height of your trace in the UI is greater than that. chrome, faced with this, just drops all the pixels. The workaround for now is to collapse various processes by clicking their process name. It is super mechanical and slow though. Gonna close this bug, though you're welcome to follow that linked issue. Someday I hope we could fix it but its commmons code... |
