bot_update applying patch failed after running Perf tryjobs on android bisect bots

After completing the perf try job, we reset the checkout on the bisect bot.
But for some reason the bot_update step fails to find the patch.

Hey Ryan, do you know what is wrong here.  
bot_update is called 2 time for perf try job, it applies the patch correctly on the first time but fails on second time

FYI I'm still having this issue. All times I tried tomorrow and once today failed with purple. Latest bot run:

The run page doesn't provide any logs to assist in finding out the cause.
