It does seem to get to 20V sometimes, but then I see a log of the voltage crashing down (~1.9V) and then the port disconnecting.

Not sure if the problem is on Zinger side or on Chell.

@Alberto, can you triage please

+tbroch & vpalatin in the hope that they recall if this is similar to wonkiness seen with early Zingers. If so, we can check whether Caesar has an old Zinger and send him a replacement.

It's actually very hard to tell from the PDLOG if you have an old Zinger.

You can try to trigger a suspend/resume and look for the cros_ec_pd_update traces in the kernel log, if you have an old unsupported/non-upgradeable Zinger, this module will barf at you, else it might remain silent. The various fixes in Zinger power circuit are difficult to identify with certainty, that's why we asked Googlers to throw away their non-MP Zinger.

Caesar, could we ask you to do a suspend/resume and file a feedback thereafter?
I had seem this issue as well on my new pixelbook. The charger was connected through an Anker dongle and the dongle disconnected (https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=834250) and then once in a while I get the low powered charger warning.

Kenneth:

This bug is about a charger from several generations ago (the 2015 Chromebook Pixel's 60W power adapter, and a preproduction version of it to boot) so it is almost certainly NOT the same issue you are seeing with your new Pixelbook and a 3rd party charger. Please file a separate bug.
