"Uninstall Google Chrome" dialog doesn't popup on latest Windows10_build14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902

Project Member Reported by pbomm...@chromium.org, Sep 7 2016

Issue description

Version: All Chrome versions
OS: Windows10_build14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Install any version of Chrome
(2) Try to uninstall Chrome through Control panel

What is the expected output?
"Uninstall Google Chrome" dialog should show up

What do you see instead?
I think "Uninstall Google Chrome" is getting invoked but the UI doesn't show up for some reason

note : I have checked other applications which I am able to uninstall sucessfully.

I don't see similar behavior on another laptop, hence marking the bug to lower priority.

Trying to restart the machine where I initially saw the bug to make sure I constantly reproduce on that machine.

That dialog is shown by chrome.exe itself. Do you see the dialog if you run "...\chrome.exe --uninstall" from a cmd prompt?

Also, does %TEMP%\chrome_installer.log contain anything like "Failed to launch: ..."?
Sorry for delayed response, No I don't see the uninstall dialog even with cmd "...\chrome.exe --uninstall"

In Chrome_installer.log I see below message several times :
[0915/151325:VERBOSE1:uninstall.cc(603)] chrome.exe launched for uninstall confirmation returned: 10

That's very odd. 10 == RESULT_CODE_UNINSTALL_USER_CANCEL, which is returned when the user cancels Chrome's uninstall dialog. This is only on one machine? Is it possible for me to remote into it?
Sure I have just pinged the details over the Chat.

Thanks. Canary's --uninstall dialog works fine. Stable Chrome creates the window (it appears in the task bar), but nothing is painted onscreen. Odd. I don't have much widget/views/etc expertise, so I'm not a good candidate for this one. I'll see if I can find a UI person to take a look.
Seems similar to issue 516291 (windows created but not drawn on multi-GPU machines). Wonder if it's possible it's the same underlying bug?

jbauman: would you please give this bug a read and see if it seems related to issue 516291 , or otherwise something you might be the right person to take a look at? Thanks.
pbommana@: could you attach the about:gpu here?
Please find the attached gpu details.

This issues is resolved, Not sure how but my machine got restarted(may be scheduled restart option) which has updated my Windows 10 version to "Windows 10_Evalucation copy.Build 14931.rs_prerelease.160916-1700" and now I see Chrome uninstall dialog when tried to uninstall from control panel.

Thanks pbommana. Please re-open if you notice it happen again. Hopefully it was just a fluke with a pre-release Windows version.
