iPad: accepting autococomplete using GBoard prevents URL highlighting.

Project Member Reported by lgar...@chromium.org, Sep 6 2016

Issue description

Version: Chrome 55.0.2851.0
OS: iOS 9.3 (iPad Air 2)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Install GBoard. GBoard is Google's keyboard for iOS [1].
(2) Make sure www.google.com is in your history.
(3) Open a new tab.
(3) Type "goo" into the URL bar (or type enough of "google.com" to get an autocomplete.
(4) Press "Go" (make sure to press the keyboard button; don't press the autocomplete entry)
(5) Refresh

What is the expected output?
The "://" and the parts after the domain are de-emphasized both after step (4) and step (5).

What do you see instead?
The URL is all black (regular tab) or all white (incognito) at step (4), and doesn't get URL emphasis until step (5).

Screencast for incognito attached.

eugenebut@, could you triage

Sounds like an omnibox thing. Justin please reassign if that's not the case.

srikanthg@ can you reproduce this?
After several tries, i am able to reproduce this on one device with one specific url. Reproduced on M55 and current stable M53 also.
Also this happens even with default iOS keyboard. GBoard is not required.
Able to repro only on iPad mini with 9.3.5 so far.
lgarron@ can you reproduce after upgrading to iOS10?
Reproduced on iOS 10.0.1 too :)
