reverting in gerrit should make it easier to DTRT |
||
Issue descriptioni've explained to many people over the years (and continue doing so) that you have to fill in details when reverting a commit. just hitting the "Revert" and "Submit" buttons is not sufficient. can we make this easier in gerrit ? here's the ideal workflow: - when hitting Revert, the generated commit message will preserve all BUG= and Bug: lines - the UI that comes up should include two text fields: the first one includes the "revert xxx" message that is generated today, and the second field is left blank -- but gerrit won't let you revert until you enter some information into that as to *why* the CL is being reverted.

This is done -- the revert button now prompts for a reason and preserves various footers. |
