When I use Chrome on my Linux setup with the xmonad Window manager, the Chrome GUI regularly freezes. In the background Chrome continues to work and reacts to clicks, but the GUI is not updated. Switching to a different xmonad workspace and back to the workspace which contains Chrome unfreezes Chrome.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) Use Chrome on a Linux with xmonad.
(2) Move the workspace with Chrome to the background and work for some time on another workspace.
(3) Switch to the workspace which contains Chrome.

What is the expected output?
Chrome works normally

What do you see instead?
The Chrome GUI is frozen.
