Firefox:FAIL

I recently installed some software for Audacity to allow conversion of certain files. It seems Google Chromium came with the download though I did not agree to it. When my firewall popped up asking if I wanted to allow I chose ti block instead. When I logged on later that night I got a pop up- your internet access has been blocked. Fortunately I remembered the reason why.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I did reproduce it I got rid of it . The problem was Chromium. I unblocked the program in Mcafee Firewall and gave it ful permission
What is the expected result?
My Internet access would be unblocked
What happens instead?
I was still blocked
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
I went to Programs and Features in the Control Panel to uninstall Chromium. I chose to uninstall and the icon disappeared. Chromium was not uninstalled . I gave allow permission to Chromium from my Mcafee Firewall but that did not worked. I then unchecked the entry for Chromium from MSCONFIG . That worked but then I had to get rid of Chromium. I had the basic edition of Revo Unistaller which did not find the Program Revo Unistaller Pro did and I installed Chromium.

I think I described in detail what was going on 1.) Chromium installed silently without offering a EULA 2.) I was set to start up automatically on reboot 3.) I blocked internet Access with Mcafee Firewall for Chromium 4.) This somehow blocked Interne access for the whole computer 5.) Giving Chromium access to the Internet did nothing for Chromium or the other Browsers 6.) Uninstalling Chromium from Programs and features just Uninstalled the Icon , thee was no Uninstaller in the program 7.) Stopping Chromium from starting up automatically in Scoffing solved the problem of Internet access but it still could not be uninstalled 8.) Uninstalling with Revo Uninstaller Pro which has the option of directly uninstall through the registry solved that problem. You need to give me better answer than the one above. Not offering a EULA is illegal! |
