Regression: Messages overlay does not close on clicking 'Hide messages' in google hangouts.

Chrome Version: 54.0.2840.8 (Official Build) 3c0742be8b25b0ba61b2a7cb632b3c989bd9e80b-refs/branch-heads/2840@{#91} 32/64 Bit.
OS: Windows (7,8,8.1,10)

Steps:
1. Launch chrome, navigate to https://mail.google.com/ and sign in with valid credentials.
2. Click on any hangout chat contact and click on Video call icon to start a video call.
3. Click on iron icon and then Full screen, click on the message icon on the bottom LHS of the page.
4. Click show messages and exit full screen, now click 'Hide messages' and observe.

Actual: Messages overlay does not close on clicking 'Hide messages'.

Expected:  Messages overlay should close on clicking 'Hide messages'.

This is a regression issue, will soon update the other info.

Seems likely to be my patch, I'll take a look but will be out until mid-next week. Given that we've shipped this in the last three stable release it doesn't seem as urgent but I'll get to it next week.

Still able to reproduce the issue on win-7 using chrome stable version-55.0.2883.75.

Thanks for the reminder. This is still on my TODO list but I think is less urgent than some of the other issues I'm dealing with so, I'll get to it eventually but not sure when.
