Additionally, since we plan to write a new https server, I wouldn't want to invest a lot here and throw it away. If the APIs won't change, then we can add them here and still get the benefit.

I guess the summary is, nothing is in place, so it's more than just the cost of writing them, but also putting in place infrastructure to run them.
