According to CWP data, VaapiVideoDecodeAccelerator::DecodeTask has been increasing steadily in recent Chrome releases, from 0.2% (in Chrome 48) to 0.55% (in Chrome 52) of all sampled CPU time on ChromeOS.

This increasing trend is present across all Intel uarchs, but is  most noticeable on more recent uarchs. For Chrome 52:

Airmont: 3.9%
Broadwell: 2.8%
Skylake: 1.5%
All other Intel uarchs: < 0.4%

There could be many usage-related factors contributing to this, but I want to confirm that this trend is known and expected.
