No it is not working as intended. the link says the following.. "Users can only install extensions hosted in the Chrome Web store, except for installs via enterprise policy or developer mode." if you go to the page that details about developer mode (https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted#unpacked) that says, Alternatively, you can drag and drop the directory where your extension files live onto chrome://extensions in your browser to load it. This means drag and drop is a way of installing plugin in developer mode. If the extension is getting disabled while I am developing it, how I am I going to test it?

per comment#2, documentation is misleading. the link https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted#unpacked says dag and drop is the way to use while plugin being developed. Can you have another look? |
