Looks like the component updater is failing to deliver Flash to your machine. Could you: (1) Launch the browser and navigate to chrome://net-internals (2) Try to load the game, seeing the 'download failed' message. (3) Send us the resulting net-internals capture. There should be at least one request to clients2.google.com. (4) Then navigate to chrome://components and upload a screenshot of that page. It would also be helpful if you can confirm: * You have not disabled component updates * Your firewall does not block http(s)://clients2.google.com/ and http(s)://redirector.gvt1.com * Your user-data-dir is writable and not on a network drive

With response to comment#3 1. Please find the following attachment of chrome://net-internals events screen cast and chrome://components screenshot. 2. Component updates are not disabled and firewall is not blocking http(s)://clients2.google.com/ and http(s)://redirector.gvt1.com

I have this exact same issue except with the streaming site twitch.tv. Prior to this build it wouldn't load (Movie Player hasn't loaded or whatever) when going to the stream at twitch.tv/streamname, however going to twitch.tv/streamname/popout would work. Now neither of them work with Download Failed showing. It works absolutely fine in normal Chrome.

Similar issues for me too. I have set to ask to run plugins and normally get requests to run flash but now just getting 'download failed' for all flash components, e.g. bbc.com/news (videos), facebook.com (games), etc.

Yes, this is completely broken on today's Canary. I'm working on a fix now, and it will ship in tomorrow's Canary. I think it's broken for a different reason than the original post experienced, so the fix for the immediate issue is unlikely to fix everyone.

OK, I believe this to be fixed in today's canary release (55.0.2846.0). There were two issues: the change above, and a server-side misconfiguration that blocked Flash from be distributed to certain Mac clients.

Re #18:
* Can you tell me the version and location of Flash in chrome://plugins? (Click +Details to see the location.)
* Do you get the content if you click "Run all plugins this time" from the omnibox prompt?
* Do you see anything if you mouseover the box (and hold the mouse stationary for a few seconds)?
* Do you see anything if you right-click or control-click the box?
* Do you get the content if you re-open the same page in a new tab after you see the white box?
* Do you get the content if you turn off control-click-to-play ("ask to run plugins")?
* Do you get the content after you restart Chrome?

#27: This is not a dev blocker. Linux (#24, #25): This is the expected behavior on Linux for the first run after installation. Due to the sandboxing model on Linux we are unable tYou'll need to restart the browser to view Flash, due to how the sandboxing model works on that platform. There is work to improve the UI around this, currently being tracked in issue 641611 . Windows (#28): I cannot reproduce failures on foxnews or xinhuanet locally. Can you please provide the details requested in #20?

But issue is still observed on playing link 5 (foxnews.com). While clicking on the videos it starts buffering but nothing plays. Attaching screen-cast for reference.

I'm guessing the issue with foxnews is that for some reason the ad at the start of the stream (a separate Flash instance) failed to display/launch, and the stream won't start until it exits cleanly. (The stream starts fine for me, though the ad took a few seconds to load.)

And it has been multiple versions, but the issue still exist in my current version of Dev Channel(55.0.2868.3 dev (64-bit)). Nobody has paid any attention except changing the "Components". BTW my Canary channel(Version 55.0.2872.0 canary (64-bit)) still "Couldn't load plugin."
