hi, thanks for filing a bug on chromium. can you list the exact repro steps so we can determine which parts of the new settings page you find harder to use?

in my own investigation: old settings (chrome://settings-frame/passwords): 1) magically know to hover over specific row (i.e. yahoo.com) 2) magically know to click on specific row 3) click "show" button new settings (chrome://md-settings/passwords): 1) click ... (which is more menu-y) 2) click View details (which is a little more sane) 3) click eye icon (kinda intuitive to mean "view", but maybe should have title="") the only thing i could see to improve this flow is make action menus in new settings (...) show on mouse /down/ and select on mouse /up/

I don't mind how it's implemented visually (magically, or not), ,y bug report was more focused around the raw number of clicks/steps between revealing a password in old chrome settings UI, vs new chrome settings UI. 1) Click to visit bookmark 2) Click search box 3) Type query 4) Click ... 5) Click View Details 6) Click Eyeball 7) Authenticate & Click OK 8) Double click to highlight and copy vs the previous UI 1) Click to visit bookmark 2) Type to search 3) Hover and reveal with eye 4) Authenticate and OK 5) Double click to highlight & copy And on usability the Search box should be focused first, it was in the old UI. I've another report about including a copy button that will save the "Double click to highlight & Copy" which you've already seen (#641910). On an aside, I've actually switched to using https://passwords.google.com. It highlights the password once revealed too -- bonus; only 2 clicks! 1) Click to Visit bookmark 2) Authenticate 3) Ctrl + F & Search 4) Click to reveal 5) Ctrl + C |
