Extension icons suddenly went missing except for one (dragging shows nothing hidden)

Reported by tomac...@gmail.com, Aug 26 2016

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
It is probably just my browser

What is the expected behavior?
I have like 14 extensions. Some of them at least should work.

What went wrong?
Only one extension (the one I have in Developer mode) works. If I open incognito window, the extension that I had allowed in Incognito mode works there after dragging the url bar. Dragging the URL bar in normal browser shows no extra icons.

Did this work before? Yes about a week or two ago

Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable
OS Version: OS X 10.11.1
Flash Version:

Extensions are not grayed out and appear to be working normally. I ran http://simple-adblock.com/faq/testing-your-adblocker/ and got a positive result, even though the Ad Block icon (one among many) is not present and not in the hidden icons view either. It used to be present along with 14 other icons.

Also, maybe related, the button "update extensions now" has no response. I imagine that this could be fixed by deleting Chrome + settings and re-installing + re-syncing. So let me know if there's something you want to debug with this particular install while it is still broken.

Can you provide a list of your extensions?

Comment 4 by tomac...@gmail.com, Aug 29 2016

I have approximately 28 extensions, with a few disabled. I have attached the list in PNG and ZIP format.

Comment 5 by tomac...@gmail.com, Aug 29 2016

I have fixed this issue just now by disabling and re-enabling the one extension in developer mode. When I disabled it, the icons re-appeared, and when re-enabled, they stayed. It seems you must have had some invalid cache that was generated on a version upgrade.

I've deleted the previously attached zip.
