Make a POST/PATCH request with some payload 2. View the request in dev tools What is the expected behavior? The size of the request should be available to view. What went wrong? There is no request size, only response size. Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.11.6 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0

+paulirish, can I get your input on this. I am not sure where exactly this should fit. Maybe have it as a hover-over on the network timeline? And should we summarize it on the bottom like the response sizes?

Both requests and responses have content-size header that show body sizes.

And what about the other issue which was merged into this issue? Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. open the devtools network panel 2. upload a file using html file upload What is the expected behavior? The size of the upload to be visible for the individual network request and also counted in the status bar transfer summary What went wrong? Upload sizes aren't displayed The size of uploads can seriously affect both performance (and charges for data) for mobile users, something which Google has been advocating developers, why should this important information be hidden? |
