I am pretty sure this happened after an auto update about a month ago. I have not seen ANYTHING else like this in my Google searches, I also have not had any resolve or direction on Google support forums.

Unable to reproduce. Hmm.. Is this happening all the time? What sites does it not happen on?
It only happens on my machine. Which is a regualr 2011 MacBook Pro with el Capitan. Even the comment box in the Chomium post is blank. So I wont be able to see what I am writing!

Please let me know if there is something I can try?

I did uninstll and reinstall Chrome I tried Canary. Nothing has worked. I am curious if I can use an older version of Chrome. I never had this problem until the recent update. I DO NOT experience this in Safari or Firefox.

It looks like something is wrong with monospace font...
Could you try changing "Fixed-width font" in chrome://settings/fonts ?
Wow! Thanks so much. That was it, For whatever reason Courier was not loading. I changed it and looks like it has resolved the issue. Thanks!

Thanks for confirming it was due to a corrupt font.
We've had some issues with font managers in the past, are you perhaps using one?

Font manager fixes should are in Chrome M53. You could also try the beta version and switch bach to Courier and see if it works there?
