Able to repro this issue on Windows 7, MAC (10.11.6) & Ubuntu Trusty (14.04) for Google Chrome Canary Version - 54.0.2835.0 This is a Non-Regression issue existing from M30 - # 30.0.1549.0

This is spec compliant, so not a bug. The relevant style attribute is "background-clip", with the default value "border-box" meaning the background extents to the outer edge of the border, under the border. With a transparent background you see the background in the border area. To get the behavior you want, set "background-clip: padding-box". I have verified that it works to solve your problem. |
