overflow text inside flexbox isn't positioned correctly when using html columns

Issue description
Chrome Version : Version 52.0.2743.116 (64-bit)

Other browsers tested:
Safari: FAIL 9.1.2
Firefox: OK 48.1
What steps will reproduce the problem?

What is the expected result?
Check symbol should be centered within it's containing block because "justify-content: center; align-items: center"
What happens instead?
Checkbox is positioned incorrectly when it's at the end or beginning of a column.
Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.

That's correct. The markup in the example doesn't even include a checkbox input. My apologies for the misleading title. If someone knows how to change it go right ahead.

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you're using flexbox to position an inline instead of just using vertical-align: center; text-align: center;? cc'ing Morten as this is a multicol issue and does look like a bug at first sight.
