Gmail launcher does not work with inbox |
||||
Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; CrOS x86_64 8530.49.0) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/53.0.2785.55 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Use Inbox instead of GMail 2. Launch using GMail shelf icon 3. Opens Inbox in a tab and you can use 4. Switch to another tab 5. Click GMail shelf icon What is the expected behavior? Switches back to Inbox tab What went wrong? Creates a new Inbox tab Did this work before? N/A Chrome version: 54.0.2830.0 Channel: canary OS Version: 8714.0.0 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 Still works fine on account that uses GMail, just not on one that uses Inbox and has the redirection option active. Understandable because the tab switches to an inbox URL but still not ideal for a user using the "mail" icon to switch to mail client.

I was able to reproduce this in 54.0.2824.5 dev Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Go to Inbox 2. Open the hamburger menu and scroll to the bottom 3. Open "Settings". In settings, go to "Other" tab. 4. Check "Redirect Gmail to inbox.google.com" 5. Close Inbox 6. Launch Gmail using the shelf icon. Inbox is opened in Chrome 7. Open a new tab 8. Click Gmail shelf icon What is the expected behavior? Switches back to Inbox tab What went wrong? Creates a new Inbox tab (new tab URL starts at Gmail, then redirects to Inbox) Chrome version: 54.0.2824.5 Channel: dev OS Version: 8688.3.0 Flash version: 22.0.0.209-r1

reproduced it again, but you can work around by setting "open as new window" on the shelf mail icon. Omri, see what you'd like to do with this, I've lowered prio as well, given that it's been sitting around for a year
