Version: Google Chrome 54.0.2830.0 (Official Build) canary (64-bit)
Revision 0
Platform 8714.0.0 (Official Build) canary-channel samus
ARC 3152188
OS: ChromeOS
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1) navigate to data:text/html;charset=utf-8,<title>%E2%8E%87%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F.%E2%8E%87%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F%E2%8E%87.%E2%8E%87.%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F</title>%E2%8E%87%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F.%E2%8E%87%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F%E2%8E%87.%E2%8E%87.%F0%9F%8D%AA%EF%B8%8F
(2) Look at body, tab title and omnibox
What is the expected output?
body: ⎇🍪️.⎇🍪️⎇.⎇.🍪️
tab title: ⎇🍪️.⎇🍪️⎇.⎇.🍪️
omnibox: data:text/html;charset=utf-8,<title>⎇🍪️.⎇🍪️⎇.⎇.🍪️</title>⎇🍪️.⎇🍪️⎇.⎇.🍪️
What do you see instead?
body: ⎇🍪️.⎇🍪️⎇.⎇.🍪️ (correct)
tab title: (approximately) 🍪️.⎇▯⎇.⎇.🍪️ (wrong!)
omnibox: (approximately) data:text/html;charset=utf-8,<title>🍪️.⎇▯⎇.⎇.🍪️</title>🍪️.⎇▯⎇.⎇.🍪️ (also wrong!)
I attached a screenshot with the rendering on ChromeOS Canary (taken after the Chromebook updated today.)
So if the alternative key symbol appears immediately prior to the cookie in a segment with nothing else, the alternative key symbol vanishes when rendered in the omnibox or tab title; when two alternative key symbols sandwich a cookie, the cookie is replaced by an incorrect glyph, a white vertical rectangle.
I thought these issues had been resolved already in the fix to https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=396415 but it looks like they are not... or perhaps it's an unrelated problem with a similar visible symptom?
