Regression: Task switcher doesn't go away even after clicking anywhere outside screen

Version: 54.0.2830.0/8713.0.0 dev channel paine,parrot,gnawty
OS: Chrome OS

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(1)Sign in to user >> Open 2-3 windows >> Hit ALT+TAB for task switcher >> Now without releasing ALT hit CTRL+F5 >> Now click on any window >> Click on any where inside screen and observe

Expected: Task switcher should go away after clicking any where outside.
Actual: Instead nothing happens and task switcher doesn't go away even after hitting tab.

This is a regression issue as same is not seen in 54.0.2826.0/8710.0.0 (Official Build) dev-channel peppy,daisy.

Able to reproduce the issue on Chrome OS Version: 54.0.2830.0/8713.0.0 dev channel parrot.

Able to reproduce on latest M54 that said there is an easy work around since pressing Alt+Tab removes the Task switcher window 

+estade/+varkha to evaluate
