Mouse selection does not copy to clipboard

Issue description

UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2816.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Select some text with mouse
2. Navigate to a different window, e.g. terminal
3. Middle-click to paste the selection

What is the expected behavior?
The selected test copied to the terminal

What went wrong?
The previous contents of clipboard is copied instead

Did this work before? Yes Release 53

Chrome version: 54.0.2816.0  Channel: n/a
OS Version: Linux mrazin.mtv.corp.google.com 3.13.0-92-generic #139-Ubuntu SMP
Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 23.0 r0

Explicit clipboard copy with ctrl-C works

Same problem here, same version of Chrome on Linux.  I filed feedback about this on August 9th in case that helps.

I also noted in my feedback that selecting text in text boxes still does copy to the clipboard.
 Issue 637924  has been merged into this issue.

The fix should appear in 54.0.2826.0 or later.
