Issue description
Chrome Version : 54.0.2824.0
OS Version: 10.0
URLs (if applicable) :
Other browsers tested:
Add OK or FAIL after other browsers where you have tested this issue:
Vivaldi 1.3: OK
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open a script heavy website (messenger.com, facebook.com, gmail.com, etc.)
2. The browser hangs up horribly delaying responses from all tabs and the browser
What is the expected result?
Should perform as fast as previous builds
What happens instead of that?
The performance is crawlingly slow (right now the next song started playing in a separate google music window and I couldn't see what I was typing for about 3 seconds).
I noticed DevTools suffers from the same issue as I was trying to find anything weird in the network load.
UserAgentString: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/54.0.2824.0 Safari/537.36

Close and reopen the tab (ctrl+shift+t), see if it goes away? Very likely issue 637523 .

The issue persists; no changes experienced from closing and reopening the tab.

UPDATE: After removing all material design theme flags performance was restored to normal. The issue probably lies with the Material Design theme

Unable to repro this issue on Windows 10 for Google Chrome Canary Version - 54.0.2830.0 @parasdeep29: Could you please perform the steps mentioned beneath and let us know your observations. 1. Update your Google Chrome Canary Version - 54.0.2830.0 2. Re-test the same on a clean profile [chrome://settings -> Add Person -> Do not Login] Thank you.

I faced the issues on a Dev-build. So installed a fresh Canary-build (54.0.2830.0). Yes I can confirm the issues are not present in this build.
