Issue descriptionIt looks like sometimes when I'm performing a gesture on the virtual keyboard on my Chromeos device a key I'm swiping over will get highlighted in gray as if it had been tapped. More importantly, it can sometimes get stuck that way, remaining gray until I swipe over it again or tap it or otherwise interact with it. It doesn't happen all the time, but can be reproduced pretty reliably on my device after a few minutes of swiping around. It *seems* to occur when I swipe quickly over the order of a "key" rather then when I swipe through the center, but that's not something I could prove, so don't hold me to that. I've attached a video of myself reproducing the issue. You'll notice the "m" in the video is already stuck gray at the start of the video, then I swipe until I'm able to get

Semi-consistent repro: press and hold a key for dozens of milliseconds (longer than a tap, but shorter than required to bring up alternate key values). Then swipe over to the adjacent key such that the point at which the swipe gesture is activated, you are now over the adjacent key.

Also possibly relevant: I have ONLY reproed this by swiping over to the adjacent key to the right.

Last comment regarding only being able to repro this to the right was due to an unrelated local debug change (which ironically made this easier to repro). After I removed that, it seems the repro is when the swipe trail activates on a different key than the one you started on. (and so I updated the bug title) This would explain why the border is more prone to causing this to happen than starting from the center of keys.

It's should be fixed on new UI. Because new UI has better motion events management. |
