Issue descriptionUserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_11_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/52.0.2743.116 Safari/537.36 Example URL: Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Try video with DAR(Display Aspect Ratio) set to value other than 1. 2. SAR(Storage Aspect Ratio) set to 1. 3. Open In chrome. What is the expected behavior? The video should open and display at DAR ratio, but it looks like DAR ratio was completely ignored and only SAR ratio is used. What went wrong? The video uses 1:1 aspect ratio when playing, however the video when played at any other browser played at 16:9 aspect ratio which is the desired result. Did this work before? Yes My colleague tested the same video on v51 and it worked. Is it a problem with Flash or HTML5? HTML5 Does this work in other browsers? Yes Chrome version: 52.0.2743.116 Channel: stable OS Version: OS X 10.11.5 Flash Version: Shockwave Flash 22.0 r0 Apologies, but I don't have the permission to upload the video. This bug is reported by other user as well at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/38912612/chrome-v52-html5-videos-getting-stretched/38918177#38918177 . Apologies if I made any mistake, I never had to analyse video before.

16:9 was the DAR for the video file on which I tested.

The main change to video size for M52, that I am aware of, was the addition of always notifying size changes internally (https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromium/src.git/+/810dee4b15363fc5e1af55880afe79ebf5a1ebda). It's plausible that this new path is computed wrong, although that would be surprising. khandujasaurabh: If you can privately provide this video file, or generate a new non-secret one, I'll use it to run a bisect and narrow down possible causes.

Hi, please let me know how to share privately. This is my first time on this platform and your email id seems to be truncated(for secrecy).

Sorry, I thought that all logged-in users could see that. You can use sandersd@chromium.org (or sandersd@google.com). Thanks!

Thanks! I am unable to reproduce the bug as described, but I believe there is a different bug that you may be experiencing ( bug 632624 ). This bug manifests as using the unrotated video size and stretching the rotated video to fit. Can you test again with Chrome Canary?

Yep, works fine on Chrome Canary. :). Thanks.

Excallent. Closing as a duplicate of issue 632624 . This is fixed in M53, so Chrome Stable should be fixed in about 4 weeks. In the meantime you can run a newer Chrome channel as a workaround! |
