Currently we maintain legacy UI code, and special status area code, to handle certain limited settings functionality from the login screen, including:

* Network IP and MAC address display
* New network configuration
* Network Proxy configuration
* Mobile network configuration
* Mobile network SIM card configuration
* Bluetooth pairing
* Accessibility

We are also missing but might benefit from:
* Display configuration
* Additional Keyboard / Mouse / Trackpad settings

In order to improve both functionality and maintainability, we should show a limited subset of settings in the login screen. We would base these settings on the MD Settings effort which is already designed around modular sections and subpages.

Prioritizing this feature will allow us to streamline the new UX for the status area and avoid some redundant effort.
